Round Valley waltzed into their match on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Bisbee Pumas as they made off with a 13-5 victory. Considering the Elks have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Carla Arreola was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Autum Webster and Ruth Wiltbank did most of the damage at the plate: Webster went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Wiltbank went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
