Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Poplarville Hornets beat the Magee Trojans 43-38 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Poplarville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kelbie Young out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Young a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Mia Ditcharo, who posted nine points.

Poplarville's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Poplarville will be playing at home against Gulfport at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Magee, they will challenge Bryant at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
