With a playoff win on the line, Jeffersonville rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Silver Creek Dragons 3-1. The game was the first time the Red Devils have beaten the Dragons on their field since April 13, 2021.

Carter Williams tossed a big game, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jeffersonville secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Braylen Gray, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Jeffersonville's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Silver Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-5.

Coming up, Jeffersonville will square off against Floyd Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Highlanders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Silver Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
