Basketball Recap: Neshoba Central Skates Past Warren Central with Ease

Neshoba Central won the last time they faced Warren Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Neshoba Central Rockets took their contest with ease, bagging a 71-36 win over the Warren Central Vikings. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Vikings are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Neshoba Central found their leader in sophomore Shastyn Lewis, who posted 18 points. Candace Lyons was another key player, putting up eight points.

Neshoba Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Warren Central, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Neshoba Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Warren Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
