Soccer Game Preview: Borger vs. Perryton

Borger is 0-4 against Perryton since February of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Borger Bulldogs will face off against the Perryton Rangers at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Borger barely beat Canyon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Borger's way against Canyon on Wednesday as Borger made off with a 4-1 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Borger hit Canyon with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ulises Castaneda, Abdel Lozano, Carlos Medina, and Isaiah White-Martinez.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perryton). Their defense stepped up to hand Hereford a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won ten games by three goals or more so far this season.

Perryton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 61 goals over those 11 matches. The win got Borger back to even at 10-10.
