Baseball Recap: Derryfield's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Derryfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hopkinton Hawks by a score of 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Keith Townsend and Nate Boudreau stepped up to the plate in a big way. Townsend went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Boudreau went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Derryfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Hopkinton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.

Coming up, Derryfield will challenge Conant at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Orioles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. Hopkinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
