Basketball Recap: Wilton Starts Season with Win Against Guilford

Wilton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They strolled past the Guilford Grizzlies with points to spare, taking the game 74-60.

Wilton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Kaliski, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 17 points along with seven assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Max Totten, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Wilton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Guilford is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Wilton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Newtown at 2:30 p.m. on the 27th. Guilford will take on Sheehan in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
