Volleyball Game Preview: Bruce Randolph Grizzlies vs. Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls

The Bruce Randolph Grizzlies will head out to challenge the Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bruce Randolph has three straight victories, Rocky Mountain Prep SMART has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Bruce Randolph barely beat Manual the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Grizzlies blew past the Thunderbolts 3-0 on Friday.

One reason for the win was Bruce Randolph's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain Prep SMART came up short against DSST: College View on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Rocky Mountain Prep SMART was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.

Bruce Randolph will have to contain Esmeralda Gonzalez as she made an impact in Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's last game. She had 11 digs and three aces.

Bruce Randolph's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything went Bruce Randolph's way against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Bruce Randolph made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
