Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Mustangs vs. Garretson Blue Dragons

The Tri-Valley Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Garretson Blue Dragons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Tri-Valley is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Garretson hadn't done well against Canton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Garretson enjoyed a cozy 66-48 win over Canton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Dragons.

Garretson's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Tri-Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for Tri-Valley against Garretson in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 64-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tri-Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
