Central has gone a perfect 3-0 against Chariho recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Central has three straight wins, Chariho has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Central earned a 5-1 victory over Toll Gate.
Jonas Diaz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has become a key player for Central: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maikel Soriano, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Yadiel Ventura was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Toll Gate only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Chariho faced Westerly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Chargers took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.
Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Chariho, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chariho struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Central was able to grind out a solid win over Chariho in their previous matchup back in April, winning 3-0. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
