Basketball Recap: Yuma Criminals vs. Sahuaro Cougars

Yuma's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Legend Redmond, who posted 15 points. The game was Redmond's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Tyleigh Jim, who earned seven points and seven rebounds.

Sahuaro had a senior duo take command as Carly Coolidge on her way to 22 points in addition to six assists and four steals and Biale Sika almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coolidge has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dazmyne Gambrell, who scored 11 points and six rebounds.

Yuma has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. Sahuaro's win bumped their record up to 21-9.

Yuma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sahuaro, they will head out on the road to take on Cactus Shadows at 6:00 p.m. on February 27th. Cactus Shadows is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
