Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Nay'myia Morgan and Ayainna Cly Lead Monument Valley to Victory

Monument Valley hadn't done well against Monticello recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Buckaroo. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Buckaroo back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Monument Valley got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-31, 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 15-13.

Leading Monument Valley to victory were Ayainna Cly and Nay'Myia Morgan. Cly had 22 assists, while Morgan had eight digs. Cly is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

Monument Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7-1 record this season. As for Monticello, they moved to 9-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Monument Valley and Green River will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monticello, they will square off against Dove Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
