 After a string of 19 wins, Morehead's good fortune finally ran out  on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Dudley Panthers by a score of  4-3.
  Brittyn Barnes was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Morehead  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 14  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dudley only tossed six.
 On Dudley's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Allen Powell, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Antonio Lee Jr., who  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles and  an  RBI.
 Having lost for the first time this season, Morehead  fell to 19-1. As for Dudley, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record  this season.
 Morehead has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome North Forsyth at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Morehead is facing North Forsyth at the right time seeing as North Forsyth is stuck on  a  13-game losing streak. As for Dudley, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Southern Guilford at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Dudley is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.1  runs per game  this season.
