Softball Game Preview: Holtville Bulldogs vs. Prattville Lions

The Holtville Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Prattville Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holtville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Holtville's offense. They fell 5-0 to Benjamin Russell on Friday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Holtville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Goff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Goff has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Prattville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Saint James.

Prattville's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Holtville, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13-1.

Holtville beat Prattville 15-11 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
