Basketball Recap: Pike Central Falls Despite Big Games from Nate Davis and Lane Frederick

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 77-52 to the Jasper Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Wildcats are ranked 141st).

Pike Central's loss came despite strong showings from Lane Frederick and Nate Davis. Frederick en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Davis to rack up 20 points. That's the most assists Frederick has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cameron Roy, who put up three points.

Pike Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Jasper, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-13.

Pike Central has already played their next match (against South Knox), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Jasper, they will head out on the road to square off against Bedford North Lawrence at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
