Basketball Recap: Canyon Takes a Loss

Canyon was the 51-30 winner over New Braunfels when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Canyon Cougars fell 42-35 to the New Braunfels Unicorns on Saturday.

Alyana Mcgarity continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Braunfels, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Ryler Wilson was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for New Braunfels, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11.

Canyon will welcome Clemens at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon is facing Clemens at the right time seeing as Clemens is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for New Braunfels, they are taking a road trip to challenge Alamo Heights at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
