Football Recap: Columbus Falls Short of Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Columbus can now relate to. They took a 62-44 bruising from the Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua Scotties on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 20-13 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Columbus lost, don't look at Colter Chamberlin. Despite the final result, he threw for 409 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 62 yards. Layne York was Chamberlin's top target, picking up 105 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua had a senior duo take command as Khye Gamas rushed for 205 yards and four scores on only 13 carries and Wyatt Sugg gained 256 total yards and five touchdowns. Thanks to that big game, Gamas is now up to 23 rushing touchdowns on the season.

With the loss, Columbus broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Three Forks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 973 yards in their previous games.
