Softball Recap: Penn Cambria Takes a Loss

Penn Cambria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-5 to the Windber Ramblers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Ramblers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sophia Rabatin put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Autumn Yeoman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Grace Sheehan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Penn Cambria's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Windber, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Penn Cambria will venture away from home to challenge Chestnut Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Windber, they will welcome Meyersdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
