Recap: Rock Hill Blue Hawks vs. McKinney Lions
After flying high against the Little Elm Lobos last Friday, The Rock Hill Blue Hawks came back down to earth. Rock Hill fell to McKinney 26-22. While losing is never fun, Rock Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 139th, while McKinney is ranked 17th).
Despite the loss, Rock Hill had strong showings from Christian Lewis, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown, and Victor Chionuma, who gained 128 total yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Bryan Jackson, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Rock Hill's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely McKinney, Allen, and Prosper. As for McKinney, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Hill will take on Boyd at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boyd is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for McKinney, they will head out on the road to face off against Guyer on Friday. Guyer is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
