The La Joya Coyotes took  a  61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Veterans Memorial Chargers. The Coyotes have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
 La Joya's loss  came despite strong showings from  Daniel Trevino and  Anthony Romero.  Trevino  had 13 points plus three  steals, while  Romero  had ten points along with five  rebounds. Romero continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Hunter Morales, who  earned 12 points.
 La Joya's record now sits at 0-9. As for Veterans Memorial,  with the  victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-3.
 La Joya has already played their next matchup,  a  78-45  win against Juarez-Lincoln on the 23rd. As for Veterans Memorial, they will take on Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Veterans Memorial likes a good challenge.
