Baseball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

If Mountain View was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Highland on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mountain View fell 8-5 to Highland on Wednesday. The Mavericks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Seth Hecox was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tav Hiaring also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Even though they lost, Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mountain View's record is now 7-4. As for Highland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Mountain View and Highland will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Mountain View is set to face off against their familiar foe Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Highland will challenge rival Madison at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
