Volleyball Recap: Bibi Caceres Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Valley Center + How To Watch

Mountain Empire lost to Valley Center back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Redhawks came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redhawks.

The victory didn't come easy: Valley Center scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Mountain Empire's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bibi Caceres, who had nine kills, five digs, and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Caceres a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Breeza Valdez, who had six digs and two aces.

Briana Rizo and Kira Le certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Rizo had 42 digs and two aces, while Le had 11 digs and three aces. Rizo is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 22 every time she's taken the court this season. Olivia Becker was another key player, getting 15 assists and five digs.

The victory got Mountain Empire back to even at 2-2. As for Valley Center, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Mountain Empire wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Borrego Springs on the 26th. As for Valley Center, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Guajome Park Academy on the 26th.
