Basketball Game Preview: Montbello Warriors vs. Denver North Vikings

Having just played yesterday, the Montbello Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Denver North Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Montbello didn't have quite enough to beat DMLK and fell 46-43. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Montbello saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kian Martin went 7 for 14 en route to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Micah Martinez was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver North). They breezed by Regis Groff to the tune of 81-36 on Friday. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Vikings had established a 34 point advantage.

Denver North's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Montbello, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
