Softball Recap: Archbishop Murphy Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Archbishop Murphy walked away with it. They came out on top against the Selah Vikings by a score of 10-7 on Friday. Archbishop Murphy's victory was all the more impressive since the Vikings were averaging only 3.29 runs allowed on the season.

Ari Dixon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Murphy got a massive performance out of Carly Madhavan, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and four runs. That's the most runs Madhavan has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sophia Mazzeo, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Archbishop Murphy pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Selah, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

As of now, neither Archbishop Murphy nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
