Rocky Mountain faced Capital in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Grizzlies managed a 55-49 victory over the Golden Eagles. The Grizzlies' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Rasean Jones produced another solid effort rushing for 199 yards and five scores on only 11 carries. Parker Kleinkopf helped out on the ground, rushing for 90 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rocky Mountain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 445 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Rocky Mountain, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jones, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Capital's loss came despite strong showings from Brayden Dudley and Quincey Clay. Dudley threw for 440 yards and five TDs, while Clay gained 201 total yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance, Clay is now averaging an impressive 110.5 receiving yards per game. Elliot Schrack also helped out as he racked up 168 receiving yards.

Rocky Mountain's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 43.0 points this season. As for Capital, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Rocky Mountain will take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.5 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Capital, they will face off against Timberline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves' defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
