Basketball Game Preview: Tipton Cardinals vs. Skutt Catholic SkyHawks

The Tipton Cardinals will take on the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tipton has given up an average of 60 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Tipton faced off against Logan-Rogersville on Saturday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 59-56. Even though they lost, the Cardinals' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the loss, Tipton had strong showings from Clara Williams, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards, and Madison Carvajal, who went 7-for-14 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Ava Schlotzhauer was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-39 heartbreaker at the hands of Lincoln East.

Tipton's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Skutt Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
