Basketball Recap: Fountain-Fort Carson Takes a Loss

Fountain-Fort Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Pine Creek Eagles 67-39. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly 28 points.

Alex Rivera and Sean-Paul Cruz certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Rivera posted eight points, while Cruz had 11 points.

Pine Creek had a senior duo take command as Blake Marshall went 8 for 20 on his way to 27 points and six rebounds and Kyler Chatman went 6 of 13 en route to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Wright, who put up four points.

Fountain-Fort Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Pine Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Fountain-Fort Carson will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Pine Creek has already played their next contest, a 69-60 defeat against Liberty on the 17th.
