Calexico Mission kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 12-0 to the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots.
For Academy of Our Lady of Peace's part, Stefini Ma'Ake made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Ma'ake has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.
