Basketball Game Preview: Hi-Plains Patriots vs. Evangel Christian Academy Eagles

The Hi-Plains Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hi-Plains is looking for their season's first victory.

Hi-Plains is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Kit Carson on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hi-Plains was dealt a 57-25 defeat at the hands of Kit Carson. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Prairie on Friday and lost 53-39. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 262nd).

Evangel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Hi-Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Hi-Plains couldn't quite finish off Evangel Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 and fell 43-40. Can Hi-Plains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
