Soccer Recap: Arvada Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Arvada was not quite Englewood's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 1-0. Arvada haven't had much luck with Englewood recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Arvada was without their leading scorer, Nora Rice, in Wednesday's game. With Rice sitting this one out, Aylin Leon Orrantia got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 52.5).

Arvada's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Englewood, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1-2.

Coincidentally, Arvada and Englewood will both be playing Bennett the next time they take the pitch. The Pirates will host the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
