Softball Recap: North Eagles vs. Calhoun County Saints
North had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-8 to make it eight. They lost 22-2 to the Calhoun County Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-2 on Monday.
As for Calhoun County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.
For Calhoun County's part, Madison Parker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Parker was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kailey Carter was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Michaela Craven was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
