Basketball Recap: Oakfield-Alabama Takes a Loss

Oakfield-Alabama lost against Elba back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Oakfield-Alabama Hornets took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elba Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Lancers are ranked 43rd).

Oakfield-Alabama's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Elba, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Oakfield-Alabama will challenge Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Notre Dame will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Oakfield-Alabama surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elba, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Alexander at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
