Soccer Game Preview: James River vs. Alleghany

The James River Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Alleghany Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Monday, James River didn't have quite enough to beat Floyd County and fell 2-1. James River have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Alleghany's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Carroll County, falling 4-0.

Alleghany's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for James River, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

James River might still be hurting after the 5-2 defeat they got from Alleghany in their previous matchup on April 7th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Knights were down 3-0.
