Basketball Recap: Naples Classical Comes Up Short

Naples Classical had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it eight. They were dealt a 73-10 loss at the hands of the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks. The Academy lost against the Shamrocks in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 62-49 score last time.

As for Donahue Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Isaac Loboda had an outrageously good game as he almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine steals. What's more, he also posted a 64% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jack Kadlec was another key player, shooting 55% from the field en route to 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Naples Classical will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hardee at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Donahue Catholic, they will square off against Barron Collier at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
