Baseball Game Preview: Assabet Valley RVT Aztecs vs. Tahanto Regional Stags

The Assabet Valley RVT Aztecs will challenge the Tahanto Regional Stags at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Assabet Valley RVT came up short against Burncoat and fell 7-3.

Meanwhile, Tahanto Regional came into Tuesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Maynard get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday.

Not much got past Connor Rice, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Maynard off the board. Rice has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Stevens, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Tahanto Regional's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Assabet Valley RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Assabet Valley RVT has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tahanto Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
