Baseball Recap: Sunset Comes Up Short

Sunset fell victim to South Dade and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Diego Maldonado got Sunset off to a strong start despite the final result, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk).

Sunset's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6. As for South Dade, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Sunset wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-9 defeat against Monsignor Pace on the 10th. As for South Dade, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Coral Shores on the 10th.
