EPIC Academy was dealt a 84-33 loss at the hands of Chicago Vocational on Thursday. EPIC Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.
Several The Legends players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rasheed Woods, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwan Donley , who scored 8 points.
Ron Thigpen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chicago Vocational, scoring 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Thigpen has scored at least 25% of Chicago Vocational's points. Another player making a difference was Kendaro Cassidy, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 assists.
EPIC Academy still hasn't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Chicago Vocational, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
EPIC Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Catalyst-Maria at 6:30 p.m. As for Chicago Vocational, they will head out on the road to face off against Urban Prep-Bronzeville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
