Hilltop came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Olympian Eagles, falling 3-0. The Lancers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Hilltop was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Olympian's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-18, 27-25.

Hilltop's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 20-10. As for Olympian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hilltop will take on Mission Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Olympian, they will square off against Southwest SD at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
