Flag Football Recap: Citronelle Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Citronelle took on Murphy on Tuesday. The Wildcats were dealt a 42-6 loss at the hands of the Panthers.

Zoye Jones had an outrageously good game for Murphy as she rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 96 yards and one TD while completing 75% of her passes. Jones' longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per carry total. Lauren Russell was another key player, picking up 102 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Citronelle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Murphy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Citronelle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Murphy, they will challenge Chickasaw at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
