Recap: Quitman Panthers vs. Forest Bearcats

The Quitman Panthers entered their tilt with the Forest Bearcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Quitman took down the Bearcats 50-33 on Monday. Given Quitman's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Bearcats are ranked 83rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Quitman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but AIYANNA DEAR led the charge by going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 2 assists. Another player making a difference was AUDRIANA HARRIS, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Quitman is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Forest, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Quitman will be playing at home against the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Quitman will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
