Baseball Recap: Craig County Comes Up Short

Craig County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-5 to the Bland County Bears. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Luke Potter was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Craig County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bland County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Craig County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Staunton River at 5:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Bland County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Grayson County at 5:00 p.m.
