Baseball Recap: Westfield Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Frewsburg, Westfield was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Pine Valley Central Panthers by a score of 9-6. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Mason Baum was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danny Bratton, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Westfield's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Pine Valley Central, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Westfield will square off against rival Chautauqua Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Pine Valley Central is set to face off against their familiar foe Clymer Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
