Mount de Sales Academy waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Mercy Magic with a sharp 14-7 victory. The Sailors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Brooke Fuhr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Fuhr was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
In other batting news, Ava McQueen was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Cece Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
