Softball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Gateway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Cape Coral Seahawks, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-2 defeat back in March.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Cape Coral, their record is now 16-5.

Looking ahead, Gateway will face off against Cypress Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cape Coral, they will square off against Estero at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Seahawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
