Football Recap: Gilmer Falls Despite Big Games from Tayveon Horne and Zade Taylor + How To Watch

Gilmer lost against Chapel Hill back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between the Buckeyes and the Bulldogs didn't end well, with the Buckeyes falling 41-26.

Gilmer's loss came despite strong showings from Zade Taylor and Tayveon Horne. Taylor rushed for 159 yards and one TD on only 13 carries, while Horne rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns.

Chapel Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malik Gee led the charge by rushing for 52 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 161 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Gee a new career-high. Chapel Hill's leading receiver Damarcion Blaylock was Gee's top target yet again, picking up 118 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Gilmer's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Chapel Hill, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
