Football Game Preview: Stone Tomcats vs. Northeast Jones Tigers + How To Watch

The Stone Tomcats will head out to square off against the Northeast Jones Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stone will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Stone's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayden Green, who rushed for 103 yards and one TD. The Tomcats are 4-1 when Green posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarion Fairley, who rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stone was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Northeast Jones came up short against Purvis on Friday and fell 28-21. The Tigers have struggled against the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Stone will have to contain Bryson Dyess as he made an impact in Northeast Jones' last game. He rushed for 93 yards and a pair of scores. Dyess was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

Stone's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Northeast Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Stone has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Northeast Jones struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 179.6 rushing yards.
