Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Lincoln

The Marshall Phoenix will venture away from home to challenge the Lincoln Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshall's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Thursday, Marshall didn't have quite enough to beat San Francisco International and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They beat Washington by a goal, winning 2-1. The result kept the Mustangs happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 9th.

The victory got Lincoln back to even at 4-4-4. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Marshall took their win against Lincoln when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marshall since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
