Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Deshler

Deshler waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 41-36 W against the Red Cloud Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Warriors last Friday, they had to take a 74-64 defeat.

Deshler got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Easton Nash out in front who went 8-for-15 en route to 16 points and three steals. Nash's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Kleen, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Deshler's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Red Cloud, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.

Deshler and Red Cloud should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. The Dragons will square off against Blue Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (79 vs. 233). Meanwhile, Red Cloud (ranked 104th) will meet Franklin (ranked 269th) on Friday.
