Central is 1-9 against Northside since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Central Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northside Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Central was able to grind out a solid win over Jonesboro, taking the game 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 22-25, 25-14.

Sydney Crowder and Leah Chavis were among the main playmakers for Central as the former had seven digs and five aces and the latter had nine digs and three aces. The dominant performance gave Chavis a new career-high in aces.

Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Northside earned a 3-1 victory over Rogers on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Northside had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 29-27, 25-21.

Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2-1 record this season. As for Northside, their win bumped their record up to 12-6-2.
