Volleyball Recap: Alameda Takes a Loss

Alameda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arvada Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Tuesday.

Jimena Casta?o Velasquez paced Alameda's offense, picking up 11 kills. Casta?o Velasquez got some help from Camila Ortiz and her 19 assists. Casta?o Velasquez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lilian Nielsen, each putting up four.

Alameda's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Arvada, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Coincidentally, Alameda and Arvada will both be playing Arrupe Jesuit the next time they take the court. The Pirates will head out to face the Generals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
